Cause
OpenAI notified developers on 2025-11-17 that codex-mini-latest would be removed on 2026-02-12, and that the legacy local shell tool (only available with codex-mini-latest) is no longer supported. Later Codex API models (gpt-5-codex, gpt-5.1-codex*, gpt-5.2-codex) were themselves shut down 2026-07-23, and gpt-5.3-codex is deprecated with removal 2027-04-01.
