ERR_PNPM_NO_MATURE_MATCHING_VERSION — pnpm 11 defaults minimumReleaseAge to 1440 min, new versions wait 24h
ERR_PNPM_NO_MATURE_MATCHING_VERSION Version 10.30.1 (released 6 days ago) of @pnpm/macos-arm64 does not meet the minimumReleaseAge constraint
Exempt specific packages/versions (preferred):
# pnpm-workspace.yaml
minimumReleaseAgeExclude:
- '@myorg/*'
- webpack
Or lower/disable it for the project:
# pnpm-workspace.yaml
minimumReleaseAge: 0 # disables the cooldown entirely
Do not put minimum-release-age= in .npmrc: pnpm 11 reads only auth/registry settings from .npmrc, so that line is ignored.
Symptom
Installing a version that was published minutes/hours ago fails or resolves to an older version:
ERR_PNPM_NO_MATURE_MATCHING_VERSION Version X (released N ago) of <pkg> does not meet the minimumReleaseAge constraint
Typical triggers: you just published your own package and try to consume it, a hotfix release is "not found", or a Dependabot/Renovate PR's lockfile references a fresh transitive version.
Cause
minimumReleaseAge (minutes a version must have been public before pnpm will install it) was added in pnpm 10.16.0 (opt-in). In pnpm 11.0.0 (2026-04-28) the default became 1440 (1 day): "newly published packages are not resolved for 24h." It applies to transitive deps too.
Verify
pnpm config get minimumReleaseAge shows the expected value; pnpm add <pkg>@<fresh-version> succeeds for excluded packages.
