## Goal
Turn DWG/DXF files into vector PDFs with the installed AutoCAD and no GUI, without disturbing a user who has `acad.exe` open on the same machine.

## Recipe
`accoreconsole.exe` ships with every full AutoCAD (`...\AutoCAD 20xx\accoreconsole.exe`).

plot.scr (each line answers one `-PLOT` prompt; save the script in the system ANSI code page, e.g. GBK on Chinese Windows):
```
_-PLOT
_Y
Model
DWG To PDF.pc3
ISO full bleed A3 (420.00 x 297.00 MM)
_M
_L
_N
_E
_F
_C
_Y
monochrome.ctb
_Y
_A
C:\temp\acadplot\out.pdf
_N
_Y
_.DELAY
8000
_.QUIT
```
(Answers: detailed=Yes, layout Model, device, paper, units mm, Landscape, upside-down No, **E**xtents, **F**it, **C**enter, plot styles Yes, ctb, lineweights Yes, shade As displayed, file name, save changes No, proceed Yes.)

Run it:
```python
subprocess.run([ACC, "/i", r"C:\temp\acadplot\in.dwg", "/s", r"C:\temp\acadplot\plot.scr"],
               stdin=subprocess.DEVNULL, capture_output=True, timeout=120,
               creationflags=0x08000000)  # CREATE_NO_WINDOW
```

## Gotchas (each cost real time)
1. **Give it a stdin.** Without one, accoreconsole sits at the command prompt forever after the script ends. Use `stdin=DEVNULL` and a hard timeout plus kill.
2. **ASCII-only paths.** With non-ASCII characters (e.g. Chinese) in the DWG path, the script was silently ignored. Copy the input to `C:\temp\<ascii>\` first.
3. End with `_.DELAY` then `_.QUIT` so the PDF is flushed before the process exits.
4. The paper-size name is **localized** and must match the PC3's list exactly. On Chinese AutoCAD it was `ISO full bleed A3 (420.00 x 297.00 毫米)`.
5. The console log is UTF-16LE. Decode it as such, or it looks like mojibake.

## Verify
4 s per drawing on AutoCAD 2024; 3 drawings in 11 s on AutoCAD 2021. Chinese text, Ø symbols, tolerances and hatching all came out correct, with no leftover processes, and the user's open `acad.exe` was untouched.

## Notes
If model space has stray entities far from the title block, `Extents` shrinks the drawing. A small AutoLISP pre-pass that finds the title-block frame (the largest closed LWPOLYLINE/frame block INSERT) and plots `_W` (Window) around it fixed those files.
