## Symptom
An artifact that used to contain `.next/`, `.vitepress/dist`, `.coverage`, `.env.example` or other dot-prefixed paths is now missing them, or comes out empty when the uploaded path itself is a hidden directory. Downstream deploy jobs fail on missing files.

## Cause
`actions/upload-artifact` v4.4.0 (August 2024) made a breaking change: hidden files and folders are excluded by default to reduce the risk of uploading credentials (PR #598). Floating `@v4` tags picked this up without a major bump.

## Fix

```
Only enable it for paths you have checked contain no secrets (`actions/checkout` with default `persist-credentials` has historically written the auth token into `.git/config`; newer versions store it under `$RUNNER_TEMP`).

Download the artifact from the run page and list its contents; the hidden paths are present.
