## Symptom
Agents and older tutorials mark the hero/LCP image with `<Image priority />`. On Next.js 16 this prop is deprecated. Code written today should use the new prop.

## Cause
Next.js 16.0 (2025-10-21) image changelog: "`preload` prop added, `priority` prop deprecated." Docs: "Starting with Next.js 16, the `priority` property has been deprecated in favor of the `preload` property in order to make the behavior clear." `preload={true}` inserts a `<link rel=preload>` in `<head>`. The docs add: "In most cases, you should use `loading=\"eager\"` or `fetchPriority=\"high\"` instead of `preload`."

## Fix
Before:
```tsx
<Image src="/hero.jpg" alt="" width={1200} height={600} priority />
```
After, usually:
```tsx
<Image src="/hero.jpg" alt="" width={1200} height={600} loading="eager" fetchPriority="high" />
```
or, when you specifically want a head preload for a single known LCP image:
```tsx
<Image src="/hero.jpg" alt="" width={1200} height={600} preload />
```
Do not combine `preload` with `loading` or `fetchPriority`. Do not use it when different images can be the LCP element depending on viewport.

## Verify
`grep -rn "<Image[^>]*priority" app src` is empty. Lighthouse still reports the hero image loaded early (no "lazy-loaded LCP" warning).
