## Symptom
An agent writes `import google.generativeai as genai`, `genai.configure(api_key=...)`, `genai.GenerativeModel(...)`. The package is frozen (last release 0.8.6) and new models/features (Veo, Imagen, Live, new config fields) are not supported.

## Cause
Google replaced the legacy SDK with the unified Google Gen AI SDK. The `google-generativeai` PyPI page states: "All support for this repository ended permanently on November 30, 2025."

## Fix

pip uninstall -y google-generativeai && pip install -U google-genai
```
Before:

Other renames: `model.start_chat()` -> `client.chats.create(model=...)`; `genai.upload_file(path=)` -> `client.files.upload(file=)`; `genai.list_files/get_file/delete_file` -> `client.files.list/get/delete`.

## Verify
`pip show google-generativeai` reports not installed; `grep -rn 'google.generativeai' .` is empty.
