## Error

```text
Ignored build scripts: @swc/core, better-sqlite3. Run "pnpm approve-builds" to pick which dependencies should be allowed to run scripts.
```

## Symptom
After upgrading to pnpm 10, `pnpm install` succeeds but prints a warning like:

```
Ignored build scripts: @swc/core, better-sqlite3.
Run "pnpm approve-builds" to pick which dependencies should be allowed to run scripts.
```

Then native modules fail at runtime (e.g. `better-sqlite3` bindings missing, `esbuild`/`sharp`/`prisma` binaries not downloaded, `husky` hooks not installed). Older advice assumes `postinstall` of dependencies always runs.

## Cause
pnpm 10.0.0 (2025-01-07): "Lifecycle scripts of dependencies are not executed during installation by default!" Only packages explicitly allow-listed may run `preinstall`/`install`/`postinstall`. Your own project's scripts still run.

## Fix
Interactive: run `pnpm approve-builds` after `pnpm install` and select the packages; it records the allow-list and runs their builds.

Or declare it explicitly (pnpm 10):

```json
// package.json
{
  "pnpm": {
    "onlyBuiltDependencies": ["esbuild", "better-sqlite3", "@swc/core"]
  }
}
```

In later pnpm 10.x releases `pnpm approve-builds` writes `onlyBuiltDependencies` into `pnpm-workspace.yaml` instead (creating that file if needed). To silence the warning for packages whose scripts you do NOT want, list them in `ignoredBuiltDependencies`. To restore the pre-v10 run-everything behaviour (not recommended): `"pnpm": { "neverBuiltDependencies": [] }`.

Commit the allow-list: CI starts from a clean store, so a local-only approval still leaves CI with the warning. Note pnpm 11 removed `onlyBuiltDependencies` in favour of `allowBuilds` (see the pnpm 11 entry).

## Verify
Delete `node_modules`, run `pnpm install`: no "Ignored build scripts" line, and the native package loads (e.g. `node -e "require('better-sqlite3')"`).
