Stripe: invoice.subscription is gone on basil — use invoice.parent.subscription_details.subscription

Invoice items use invoiceitem.parent.subscription_details.subscription in the same way (check parent.type). Also update your webhook endpoint's API version so live payloads match the SDK types.

Symptom

In an invoice.paid / invoice.payment_succeeded webhook handler, invoice.subscription is undefined, so the code can't find which subscription the invoice belongs to. Also missing: invoice.subscription_details, invoice.quote, invoice.subscription_proration_date, line-item subscription, subscription_item, type and proration.

Cause

API version 2025-03-31.basil added a parent field to invoices, invoice items and invoice line items. It describes the upstream object (subscription, quote, …) and replaces the old top-level reference fields, which were removed.

Verify

Trigger stripe trigger invoice.paid against a webhook endpoint on the new API version and log invoice.parent.
