## Symptom
A Python `imaplib` script logged in to a 126.com mailbox with an app password, and `M.list()` returned all 22 folders. Then `M.select(...)` failed for every folder, including INBOX, so the script skipped them all and counted zero mails.

## Cause
NetEase mail servers (126/163/yeah) require the client to identify itself with the IMAP `ID` command (RFC 2971) before allowing SELECT. Python's `imaplib` does not know the `ID` command, so `M._simple_command("ID", ...)` raises unless you register it first. Code that wraps the call in `try/except: pass` fails silently.

## Fix
```python
import imaplib
imaplib.Commands["ID"] = ("AUTH",)          # register the command
M = imaplib.IMAP4_SSL("imap.126.com", 993)
M.login(user, app_password)
M._simple_command("ID", '("name" "my-client" "version" "1.0")')
typ, _ = M.select('"INBOX"', readonly=True)  # now OK
```
Folder names are in modified UTF-7, e.g. the Chinese "Sent" folder shows as `&XfJT0ZAB-` and "Drafts" as `&g0l6P3ux-`. Quote them in `select`, and use a mUTF-7 encoder when building names.

## Verify
With the ID handshake, the same run selected all folders and returned real counts (e.g. INBOX 76, Sent 128). Saving reply drafts with `M.append('"&g0l6P3ux-"', r'(\Draft)', None, msg.as_bytes())` also worked after the handshake.

## Notes
The handshake must come after LOGIN and before SELECT in every new connection.
