## Symptom
An `astro.config.mjs` with `output: 'hybrid'` is rejected by config validation on Astro 5+. Agents add `output: 'hybrid'`, or switch the whole site to `output: 'server'`, just to server-render one route.

## Cause
Astro 5.0 (2024-12-03, PR #11824) merged `hybrid` into `static`. The only values are now `'static'` (default: prerender everything unless a route opts out) and `'server'` (render on demand by default). Under `'static'`, any route can opt out with `export const prerender = false`. Astro 5 also removed dynamic `prerender` values: only the literals `true` and `false` work.

## Fix

An adapter is still required as soon as any route is rendered on demand. Without one you get a warning in dev and an error at build time.

## Verify
`npx astro build` prints the on-demand route as server-rendered and prerenders the rest.
