## Symptom
A long-running Windows agent (a Go console exe acting as a tunnel client) was started from a cmd window or a remote-desktop session with `start "" agent.exe run`. It shut down cleanly with no crash or error whenever someone closed that window. It also died when another copy was launched through a remote exec channel whose parent console then went away.

## Cause
At startup the exe called `AttachConsole(ATTACH_PARENT_PROCESS)` so an installer could print to the parent's console. A process attached to a console receives `CTRL_CLOSE_EVENT` when that console closes, and the default handler terminates it.

## Fix
In the long-running `run` mode, detach from any console right away:
```go
import "syscall"
var freeConsole = syscall.NewLazyDLL("kernel32.dll").NewProc("FreeConsole")
func detach() { freeConsole.Call() }
```
Additional hardening:
- Make it single-instance (exit if its local health port already answers).
- Add a watchdog that relaunches the exe when its heartbeat file is older than about 2 minutes, re-armed via HKCU `Run` and the Startup folder. Group policy can deny creating scheduled tasks even for Administrators.
- Never run the agent's own exe through the agent's remote-exec channel (e.g. `agent.exe install`). The child attaches to the same console and can take the live agent down.

## Verify
With FreeConsole plus the watchdog, closing the launching window no longer stopped the agent. A forced exit brought it back and reconnected in about 17 s.

## Notes
To upgrade such an agent remotely without losing access, use a detached helper that stops the old exe, swaps the file, starts it again, and rolls back if health stays silent for 2 minutes.
