## Symptom
Code using `gemini-2.0-flash`, `gemini-2.0-flash-001`, `gemini-2.0-flash-lite` or `gemini-2.0-flash-lite-001` (the default model in many 2025 examples) fails.

## Cause
Google lists a shutdown date of 2026-06-01 for these models. "Once a model is shutdown, it is completely turned off, and the endpoint is no longer available." Earlier: `gemini-2.0-flash-lite-preview*` and `gemini-2.0-flash-live-001` shut down 2025-12-09; `gemini-2.0-flash-preview-image-generation` on 2025-11-14.

## Fix
Listed replacements: `gemini-2.0-flash` -> `gemini-3.6-flash`; `gemini-2.0-flash-lite` -> `gemini-3.1-flash-lite`. For new projects Google says to use its latest models: `gemini-3.8-flash` or `gemini-3.5-flash-lite`.

## Verify
`client.models.list()` (google-genai) shows the model you call.
