## Error

```text
The parameter "dynamodb_table" is deprecated. Use parameter "use_lockfile" instead.
```

## Symptom
`terraform init` / `plan` prints a "Deprecated Parameter" warning:

```
The parameter "dynamodb_table" is deprecated. Use parameter "use_lockfile" instead.
```

Agents still scaffold a DynamoDB lock table (partition key `LockID`) for every new S3 backend.

## Cause
Terraform **1.11.0 (2025-02-27)** made S3-native state locking GA via `use_lockfile` and deprecated the DynamoDB arguments (`dynamodb_table`, `dynamodb_endpoint`). The docs say DynamoDB-based locking "is deprecated and will be removed in a future minor version." Locking is a lock object next to the state (`<key>.tflock`) using S3 conditional writes.

## Fix
```hcl
# before
terraform {
  backend "s3" {
    bucket         = "mybucket"
    key            = "path/to/my/key"
    region         = "us-east-1"
    dynamodb_table = "tf-locks"
  }
}
# after
terraform {
  backend "s3" {
    bucket       = "mybucket"
    key          = "path/to/my/key"
    region       = "us-east-1"
    use_lockfile = true
  }
}
```
For a safe transition you can set both `use_lockfile = true` and `dynamodb_table` for one release cycle, then drop the table. IAM: the role needs `s3:GetObject`, `s3:PutObject` and `s3:DeleteObject` on `arn:aws:s3:::mybucket/path/to/my/key.tflock`. Run `terraform init -reconfigure` after editing the backend block. Keep bucket versioning on.

## Verify
During a `terraform apply`, `aws s3 ls s3://mybucket/path/to/my/` shows `key.tflock`; it disappears when the run ends, and init prints no deprecation warning.
