## Symptom
Needed the exact finished size (L×W×T) of machined parts from customer STEP files to compute raw stock. A quick parser that took min/max over `CARTESIAN_POINT` entries in the STEP text was off by 3–10× because the file contains construction/placement points that are not on the solid.

## Fix
Use OpenCascade via the `cadquery-ocp` wheel (no full CadQuery needed) and compute an optimal (tight) box from the B-rep:
```python
# pip install cadquery-ocp
from OCP.STEPControl import STEPControl_Reader
from OCP.Bnd import Bnd_Box
from OCP.BRepBndLib import BRepBndLib
r = STEPControl_Reader()
assert r.ReadFile(path) == 1   # IFSelect_RetDone
r.TransferRoots()
shape = r.OneShape()
box = Bnd_Box()
BRepBndLib.AddOptimal_s(shape, box, False, False)   # useTriangulation=False, useShapeTolerance=False
p0, p1 = box.CornerMin(), box.CornerMax()
dims = sorted([p1.X()-p0.X(), p1.Y()-p0.Y(), p1.Z()-p0.Z()], reverse=True)
```
`AddOptimal` gives a tight box; plain `Add` can include tolerance/control-point padding.

## Verify
On real parts the result matched the drawings (e.g. 92×32×10 mm), and an agent's independent readings of 19 parts matched the computed boxes; the STEP box also caught a 22→19 mm misreading from a drawing.

## Notes
Bounding boxes are axis-aligned in the file's coordinate system; parts modeled at an angle need an oriented box. Parasolid `.x_t` vertex-based boxes are wrong for cylinders (use the drawing or a real kernel).
