## Symptom
Speech code defaults to `whisper-1` for transcription and `tts-1` for speech, the standard models in older examples.

## Cause
- 2026-08-26: `whisper-1`, `gpt-4o-transcribe`, `gpt-4o-mini-transcribe`, `gpt-4o-transcribe-diarize` deprecated; removed 2027-02-26.
- 2026-10-01: `tts-1`, `tts-1-hd`, `gpt-4o-mini-tts-2025-03-20`, `gpt-4o-mini-tts-2025-12-15` deprecated; removed 2027-01-06.

## Fix
Transcription -> `gpt-live-transcribe` or `gpt-transcribe`. TTS -> `gpt-realtime-2.1-mini` (OpenAI points to the Realtime API guide for TTS migration). Plan the migration now; the replacement for TTS is a different API surface.

## Verify
Usage dashboard shows no traffic on the deprecated audio models.
