## Error

```text
`experimental.ppr` has been merged into `experimental.cacheComponents`.
```

## Symptom
A next.config copied from Next.js 15 tutorials (`experimental: { ppr: 'incremental' }`, `experimental: { dynamicIO: true }`, `experimental: { useCache: true }`) or a route that exports `export const experimental_ppr = true` stops working on Next.js 16. One reported message: `[Error: `experimental.ppr` has been merged into `experimental.cacheComponents`. The Partial Prerendering feature is still available, but is now enabled via `experimental.cacheComponents`. Please update your next.config.ts accordingly.]`

## Cause
Next.js 16 (2025-10-21) removed `experimental.ppr`, the route-level `experimental_ppr` export, `experimental.dynamicIO` and `experimental.useCache`. PPR and `"use cache"` now ship as Cache Components behind the TOP-LEVEL `cacheComponents` option. The `experimental.cacheComponents` placement in the message above comes from the canary period. In stable 16 the option is top-level, not under `experimental`.

## Fix
Before:
```ts
const nextConfig = {
  experimental: { ppr: 'incremental', dynamicIO: true, useCache: true },
}
// app/page.tsx
export const experimental_ppr = true
```
After, if you actually use PPR / `"use cache"`:
```ts
import type { NextConfig } from 'next'
const nextConfig: NextConfig = {
  cacheComponents: true,
}
export default nextConfig
```
and delete every `export const experimental_ppr` (the `npx @next/codemod@canary upgrade latest` codemod removes these).

If you were NOT using these features, just delete the flags and leave `cacheComponents` off. Turning it on is not a rename: it changes the rendering model and can surface errors such as "Uncached data was accessed outside of `<Suspense>`" plus incompatibility with `dynamic`/`revalidate`/`fetchCache`/`dynamicParams` segment configs. Projects that relied on PPR from 15 canaries are told to stay on that canary until they migrate.

## Verify
`next build` starts without config errors, and `grep -rn "experimental_ppr\|dynamicIO\|useCache:" .` returns nothing.
