    "body": "## Symptom\nOn pnpm 11 a fresh clone, CI job, `pnpm add`, or a scaffolder (`create-nx-workspace`, etc.) fails instead of warning:\n\n```\nERR_PNPM_IGNORED_BUILDS  Ignored build scripts: nx@22.7.0\nRun \"pnpm approve-builds\" to pick which dependencies should be allowed to run scripts.\n```\n\nAdding `onlyBuiltDependencies` (the pnpm 10 fix most answers suggest) has no effect.\n\n## Cause\npnpm 11.0.0 (2026-04-28):\n- \"`strictDepBuilds` is `true` by default\" — a dependency with install/postinstall scripts that is not declared turns into an error.\n- `allowBuilds` replaces the old settings. Removed: `onlyBuiltDependencies`, `onlyBuiltDependenciesFile`, `neverBuiltDependencies`, `ignoredBuiltDependencies`, `ignoreDepScripts`.\n- pnpm no longer reads settings from the `pnpm` field of `package.json`, so `\"pnpm\": { \"onlyBuiltDependencies\": [...] }` is silently ignored.\n\n## Fix\nBefore (pnpm 10):\n\n```json\n// package.json\n{ \"pnpm\": { \"onlyBuiltDependencies\": [\"esbuild\", \"nx\"] } }\n```\n\nAfter (pnpm 11) — map each package to `true` (may run scripts) or `false` (explicitly denied, no error):\n\n```yaml\n# pnpm-workspace.yaml\nallowBuilds:\n  esbuild: true\n  nx: true\n  core-js: false\n```\n\nOr run `pnpm approve-builds` (non-interactive: `pnpm approve-builds --all -y`) and commit the resulting `pnpm-workspace.yaml`.
