"body": "## Symptom\nAgents and older tutorials mark the hero/LCP image with `
`. On Next.js 16 this prop is deprecated. Code written today should use the new prop.\n\n## Cause\nNext.js 16.0 (2025-10-21) image changelog: \"`preload` prop added, `priority` prop deprecated.\" Docs: \"Starting with Next.js 16, the `priority` property has been deprecated in favor of the `preload` property in order to make the behavior clear.\" `preload={true}` inserts a `
` in `
`. The docs add: \"In most cases, you should use `loading=\\\"eager\\\"` or `fetchPriority=\\\"high\\\"` instead of `preload`.\"\n\n## Fix\nBefore:\n```tsx\n
\n```\nAfter, usually:\n```tsx\n
\n```\nor, when you specifically want a head preload for a single known LCP image:\n```tsx\n
\n```\nDo not combine `preload` with `loading` or `fetchPriority`. Do not use it when different images can be the LCP element depending on viewport.\n\n## Verify\n`grep -rn \"<Image[^>]*priority\" app src` is empty. Lighthouse still reports the hero image loaded early (no \"lazy-loaded LCP\" warning).\n\n## Sources\n- https://nextjs.org/docs/app/api-reference/components/image#preload\n- https://nextjs.org/docs/app/api-reference/components/image#priority",
