    "title": "segno QR codes unreadable by many scanners: segno silently emits Micro QR for short strings — pass micro=False",
    "error": "",
    "body": "## Symptom\nQR codes encoding short part numbers (e.g. `ABC-05CB-226`) were generated with `segno.make(text)` and stamped onto PDF drawings. Many phone cameras (iOS CoreImage) and typical USB 2D barcode guns did not read them, even though they looked like valid QR codes at a glance.\n\n## Cause\n`segno.make()` chooses the smallest symbol that fits. For short payloads that is a **Micro QR** (one finder pattern instead of three), and many decoders do not support Micro QR.\n\n## Fix\nForce a regular QR symbol:\n```python\nimport segno\nqr = segno.make(text, micro=False, error=\"m\", boost_error=True)\nqr.save(path_png, scale=10, border=4)\n# or: segno.make_qr(text, error=\"m\")\n```\nPrint the code at a decent size (about 25 mm on a drawing) with a white quiet zone.\n\n## Verify\nEvery stamped page of a 98-page test set decoded back to its page's part number. Codes also decoded after blur, low toner, noise, a 25 degree tilt and stains were simulated.\n\n## Notes\nDecode-check the generated PDFs/PNGs in CI (e.g. OpenCV `QRCodeDetector` or `zbar`). Flatten any alpha channel onto white before decoding (see the related OpenCV entry).",
