    "body": "## Symptom\nAn automated deploy check rendered stamped label PNGs and decoded their QR codes with `cv2.QRCodeDetector().detectAndDecode()`, to confirm the URL pointed to the right public host. Detection returned an empty string for every image, even though phones scanned the same images fine.\n\n## Cause\nThe PNGs had a transparent background. `cv2.imread(path)` drops the alpha channel, and transparent pixels usually store RGB = (0,0,0), so the whole background turns black and the dark modules disappear into it. There is no light quiet zone left to detect.\n\n## Fix\nLoad with alpha and composite onto white before decoding:\n```python\nimport cv2, numpy as np\nimg = cv2.imread(path, cv2.IMREAD_UNCHANGED)\nif img.ndim == 3 and img.shape[2] == 4:\n    a = img[:, :, 3:4].astype(np.float32) / 255.0\n    img = (img[:, :, :3].astype(np.float32) * a + 255.0 * (1 - a)).astype(np.uint8)\ndata, pts, _ = cv2.QRCodeDetector().detectAndDecode(img)\nprint(data)\n```\n(With Pillow: `Image.alpha_composite(Image.new(\"RGBA\", im.size, \"white\"), im).convert(\"RGB\")`.)\n\n## Verify\nAfter flattening, every rendered label decoded to the expected URL. This check caught a real bug: a fresh deploy whose QR codes still pointed at the template app's hostname because the public base URL env var was missing.\n\n## Notes\nDecoding the QR in your deploy smoke test is a cheap way to catch wrong `PUBLIC_BASE_URL`-style env values.",
