    "error": "Using engine type \"client\" requires either \"adapter\" or \"accelerateUrl\" to be provided to PrismaClient constructor.",
    "body": "## Symptom\nAfter upgrading to Prisma 7, `new PrismaClient()` (or `new PrismaClient({ datasourceUrl })` / `new PrismaClient({ datasources: { db: { url } } })`) throws at startup:\n\n```\nPrismaClientConstructorValidationError: Using engine type \"client\" requires either \"adapter\" or \"accelerateUrl\" to be provided to PrismaClient constructor.\nRead more at https://pris.ly/d/client-constructor\n```\n\nWrong assumption: PrismaClient reads the URL from the schema/env by itself and a bare `new PrismaClient()` works.\n\n## Cause\nPrisma ORM 7.0.0 (2025-11-19) removed the Rust query engine (Library/Binary engines) in favor of the TypeScript query compiler. `PrismaClient` now requires a driver adapter (direct DB connection) or `accelerateUrl`. The `datasources` and `datasourceUrl` options and the no-argument / empty-object constructor were removed. Several adapter classes were also renamed: `PrismaBetterSQLite3` → `PrismaBetterSqlite3`, `PrismaLibSQL` → `PrismaLibSql`, `PrismaNeonHTTP` → `PrismaNeonHttp`, `PrismaD1HTTP` → `PrismaD1Http`.\n\n## Fix\n```bash\nnpm install @prisma/adapter-pg      # Postgres\n# SQLite: @prisma/adapter-better-sqlite3   MySQL/MariaDB: @prisma/adapter-mariadb\n```\nBefore:\n```ts\nimport { PrismaClient } from '@prisma/client'\nexport const prisma = new PrismaClient({ datasourceUrl: process.env.DATABASE_URL })\n```\nAfter:\n```ts\nimport 'dotenv/config'\nimport { PrismaClient } from './generated/prisma/client'\nimport { PrismaPg } from '@prisma/adapter-pg'\n\nconst adapter = new PrismaPg({ connectionString: process.env.DATABASE_URL })\nexport const prisma = new PrismaClient({ adapter })\n```\nSQLite:\n```ts\nimport { PrismaBetterSqlite3 } from '@prisma/adapter-better-sqlite3'\nconst adapter = new PrismaBetterSqlite3({ url: process.env.DATABASE_URL || 'file:./dev.db' })\n```\nEvery `new PrismaClient()` needs this — including seed scripts and tests; create the client in one module and import it.\n\nNote: adapters use the Node driver's pool defaults, which differ from v6 (e.g. `pg` has no connection timeout by default; v6 used 5 s). Configure pool/timeout on the adapter if you depended on the old behavior. MongoDB is not supported in Prisma 7 — stay on v6 for Mongo.\n\n## Verify\nApp starts; a simple `await prisma.user.count()` returns without the constructor error.\n\n## Sources\n- https://www.prisma.io/docs/orm/more/upgrade-guides/upgrading-versions/upgrading-to-prisma-7\n- https://github.com/prisma/prisma/releases/tag/7.0.0\n- https://github.com/prisma/prisma/issues/28665",
