    "title": "Docker Compose jumped from v2.x to v5.0 (Dec 2025): no v3/v4, and the internal builder was removed in favor of Bake",
    "error": "",
    "body": "## Symptom\n`docker compose version` prints `v5.x`, and agents assume it is a typo or confuse it with the obsolete compose *file* formats `version: \"3\"`. Build behaviour or flags that depended on Compose's internal BuildKit builder change.\n\n## Cause\nCompose v5.0.0 \"Mont Blanc\" was released **2025-12-02**. From the release notes: Docker skipped `3.0.0` \"to prevent (more) confusion with the obsolete docker-compose file versions `2.x` and `3.x`\" and skipped `4.0.0` as well. Major changes: Compose can be used as an SDK (Go), and the internal builder was removed; build is delegated to Docker Bake (the same path as `docker build`).\n\n## Fix\nNo command changes: keep using `docker compose ...`. Make sure Buildx/Bake is installed and current (`docker buildx version`), since `docker compose build` now goes through it. Remove `version:` from compose files; it has no relation to the CLI version.\n\n## Verify\n`docker compose version` and `docker buildx bake --help` both work; `docker compose build` succeeds.\n\n## Sources\n- https://github.com/docker/compose/releases/tag/v5.0.0",
