    "title": "Drizzle ORM 1.0 (rc): relations() / Relational Queries v1 removed — use defineRelations + drizzle({ relations })",
    "error": "",
    "body": "## Symptom\nAfter installing `drizzle-orm@rc` / `drizzle-orm@beta` (1.0 line), code written from older docs or training data breaks: `relations(users, ({ many }) => ...)` blocks, `drizzle(client, { schema })` setup, and queries like `db.query.users.findMany({ where: (u, { eq }) => eq(u.id, 1), orderBy: (u, { asc }) => [asc(u.id)] })` no longer type-check or behave as expected. Wrong assumption: the v0 Relational Queries API (RQBv1) is current.\n\nNote: as of 2026-10 the npm `latest` tag of drizzle-orm is still 0.45.x; 1.0 ships under `@rc` (1.0.0-rc.1 published 2026-04-30). The current orm.drizzle.team docs show the v2 syntax — don't mix it with a 0.x install.\n\n## Cause\nDrizzle 1.0 removes Relational Queries v1. Relations are declared once with `defineRelations()` (`from`/`to` replace `fields`/`references`, `alias` replaces `relationName`), the client takes `relations` instead of `schema`, `where`/`orderBy` are plain objects, and many-to-many uses `.through()`. During the 1.0 betas the old API lived on as `db._query`.\n\n## Fix\nBefore (0.x):\n```ts\nimport { relations } from 'drizzle-orm'\nexport const usersRelations = relations(users, ({ many }) => ({ posts: many(posts) }))\nexport const postsRelations = relations(posts, ({ one }) => ({\n  author: one(users, { fields: [posts.authorId], references: [users.id] }),\n}))\nconst db = drizzle(process.env.DATABASE_URL!, { schema })\nawait db.query.users.findMany({ where: (u, { eq }) => eq(u.id, 1), orderBy: (u, { asc }) => [asc(u.id)] })\n```\nAfter (1.0):\n```ts\nimport { defineRelations } from 'drizzle-orm'\nimport * as schema from './schema'\nexport const relations = defineRelations(schema, (r) => ({\n  users: { posts: r.many.posts() },\n  posts: { author: r.one.users({ from: r.posts.authorId, to: r.users.id }) },\n}))\nconst db = drizzle(process.env.DATABASE_URL!, { relations })\nawait db.query.users.findMany({ where: { id: 1 }, orderBy: { id: 'asc' }, with: { posts: true } })\n```\nOperators: `where: { id: { gt: 10 }, OR: [...], NOT: {...} }`. Many-to-many: `from: r.users.id.through(r.usersToGroups.userId)` then `with: { groups: true }`. `drizzle-kit pull` can generate `relations.ts` in the new syntax. Other 1.0 API changes from the same guide: `getTableColumns` → `getColumns`, `.enableRLS()` → `pgTable.withRLS()`, `column.array().array()` → `column.array('[][]')`, `drizzle-zod` → `drizzle-orm/zod`.\n\n## Verify\n`tsc --noEmit` passes; a `db.query.<table>.findMany({ with: {...} })` returns nested rows.\n\n## Sources\n- https://orm.drizzle.team/docs/relations-v1-v2\n- https://orm.drizzle.team/docs/v0-v1-changes\n- https://orm.drizzle.team/docs/upgrade-v1\n- https://registry.npmjs.org/drizzle-orm",
