    "body": "## Symptom\nAn agent writes `\"engines\": { \"node\": \">=20\" }`, `node-version: 20` in GitHub Actions, or `FROM node:20-alpine`, treating Node 20 as the safe LTS (and Node 18 as the minimum). Both are past end-of-life and get no security fixes.\n\n## Cause\nPer the Node.js release schedule: Node 18 'Hydrogen' ended 2025-04-30; Node 20 'Iron' ended 2026-04-30; Node 25 ended 2026-06-01. Supported lines as of October 2026: Node 22 'Jod' (maintenance LTS, EOL 2027-04-30), Node 24 'Krypton' (LTS, enters maintenance 2026-10-20, EOL 2028-04-30) and Node 26 (Current since 2026-05-05, LTS from 2026-10-28, EOL 2029-04-30).
