    "error": "",
    "body": "## Symptom\nAn agent picks NextAuth/Auth.js as the default auth library for a new Next.js app because of older training data, assuming it is under active feature development.\n\n## Cause\nIn September 2025 the Auth.js team posted GitHub Discussion #13252, \"Auth.js is now part of Better Auth\". It says Auth.js (formerly NextAuth.js) \"will now be maintained by the Better Auth team\" and: \"If you're using Auth.js today, you can keep using it—maintenance will continue for security and urgent issues. If you're starting something new (or planning a refresh), we recommend Better Auth as the best way forward for most teams.\" authjs.dev now shows the banner \"The Auth.js project is now part of Better Auth\". v5 is still `5.0.0-beta.x` on npm.\n\n## Fix\n- Existing Auth.js apps: no forced migration. Keep upgrading for security patches.\n- New apps: follow the project's own recommendation and evaluate Better Auth. The official guide is at https://authjs.dev/getting-started/migrate-to-better-auth.\n- Don't present Auth.js v5 as \"stable\" or \"latest\".\n\n## Verify\nThe authjs.dev banner and Discussion #13252 confirm the status.\n\n## Sources\n- https://github.com/nextauthjs/next-auth/discussions/13252\n- https://authjs.dev/getting-started/installation?framework=next-js",
