    "body": "## Symptom\nJobs on `macos-14`, `macos-14-large` or `macos-14-xlarge` fail outright during set windows in October 2026, then permanently after November 2. Separately, `macos-latest` builds now run on macOS 26 with a different default Xcode, which can break signing or SDK assumptions.\n\n## Cause\nGitHub retires the macOS 14 runner image on **2026-11-02**. Brownouts (jobs fail 14:00 to 00:00 UTC) run on Oct 5, 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, 29 and 30, 2026, and capacity may be reduced beforehand. GitHub's recommended labels list `macos-latest` as `macos-26` and `macos-latest-xlarge` as `macos-26-xlarge`.\n\n## Fix\n```yaml\n# before\nruns-on: macos-14\n# after: pin a version so the next latest move doesn't surprise you\nruns-on: macos-15\n# or adopt the newest\nruns-on: macos-26\n```\nIf you ship binaries, keep the old minimum OS explicit, e.g. `MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=14.0` or `-DCMAKE_OSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=14.0`, because building on a newer image can raise it.
