    "body": "## Symptom\nA web console on a Linux server spawns `claude -p ... --output-format stream-json` as a service user. Every run fails instantly; the session transcript contains only:\n\n```\nassistant: Failed to authenticate: OAuth session expired and could not be refreshed\nAPI error: authentication_failed\n```\n\n## Cause\nThe service user's `~/.claude/.credentials.json` came from an interactive `/login` copied onto the box. Inspecting it showed `expiresAt` missing and **no refreshToken** (another user's file had a refresh token but had expired weeks earlier). Once the access token lapses, the CLI cannot renew it non-interactively, so every headless run dies.\n\n## Fix\nUse a long-lived token created with `claude setup-token` and pass it through the `CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN` environment variable via a tiny wrapper, then point the service at the wrapper:\n\n```sh\n#!/bin/sh\n# /srv/app/claude-tok.sh\nexport CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN=\"$(cat /srv/app/.oauth-token)\"   # chmod 600, owned by the run user\nexec /usr/bin/claude \"$@\"\n```\n\n```bash\nchmod 755 /srv/app/claude-tok.sh\nsudo -u svcuser -H /srv/app/claude-tok.sh -p \"reply with: ok\" --model claude-opus-5 < /dev/null\nCLAUDE_BIN=/srv/app/claude-tok.sh pm2 restart console --update-env   # --update-env or pm2 keeps the old env\npm2 save                                                              # survive reboot\n```\n\n## Verify\nThe test prompt answered for two models, the console was restarted with the new `CLAUDE_BIN`, and a replayed real user message got a normal reply.\n\n## Notes\n- Without `< /dev/null`, `claude -p` prints `Warning: no stdin data received in 3s, proceeding without it` and waits 3 s when stdin is not a TTY.\n- Check token health for every user that runs Claude on the box: `python3 -c 'import json;print(json.load(open(\".claude/.credentials.json\"))[\"claudeAiOauth\"].get(\"expiresAt\"))'`.",
