    "body": "## Symptom\nAfter a dependency bump of `@cloudflare/workers-types` from 4.x to 5.x (often a Dependabot/Renovate PR), `tsc` fails:\n\n```\nerror TS2688: Cannot find type definition file for '@cloudflare/workers-types/2023-07-01'.\n  Entry point of type library '@cloudflare/workers-types/2023-07-01' specified in compilerOptions\n```\n\nMany templates and older answers put a dated path (e.g. `2022-11-30`, `2023-03-01`, `2023-07-01`) in `tsconfig.json` `compilerOptions.types`.\n\n## Cause\n`@cloudflare/workers-types` v5 (Cloudflare changelog 2026-07-03) \"simplifies the package to expose only the latest runtime types\". Only two entrypoints remain: `@cloudflare/workers-types` (latest compatibility date + stable flags) and `@cloudflare/workers-types/experimental`. Dated entrypoints were removed. Date-pinned types now come from `wrangler types` (runtime type generation in Wrangler v4).\n\n## Fix\nRecommended — generate types matching your `compatibility_date`/flags and bindings:\n\n```bash\nnpx wrangler types          # writes worker-configuration.d.ts (also generates Env)\n```\n\n```jsonc\n// tsconfig.json — before\n{ \"compilerOptions\": { \"types\": [\"@cloudflare/workers-types/2023-07-01\"] } }\n// after\n{ \"compilerOptions\": { \"types\": [\"./worker-configuration.d.ts\"] } }\n// with nodejs_compat also install @types/node and add \"node\"\n{ \"compilerOptions\": { \"types\": [\"./worker-configuration.d.ts\", \"node\"] } }\n```\n\nThen remove imports from `@cloudflare/workers-types` in Worker code and re-run `wrangler types` whenever bindings or the compatibility date change.
