    "body": "## Symptom\n`pipeline(\"summarization\")`, `pipeline(\"translation_en_to_fr\")`, `pipeline(\"text2text-generation\")`, `pipeline(\"question-answering\")` or `pipeline(\"image-to-image\")` fail on transformers v5; v4-era tutorials still show them.\n\n## Cause\ntransformers v5.0.0 (2026-01-26): `question-answering` and `Text2TextGenerationPipeline` \"including its related `SummarizationPipeline` and `TranslationPipeline`, were deprecated and will now be removed\"; `image-to-image` was removed too. Image-text-to-text pipelines no longer accept images as a separate argument alongside chats.\n\n## Fix\n```python\n# before\nsummarizer = pipeline(\"summarization\")\nsummarizer(text)\n\n# after: a chat model + text-generation\nfrom transformers import pipeline\ngen = pipeline(\"text-generation\", model=\"HuggingFaceTB/SmolLM3-3B\")\nout = gen([{\"role\": \"user\", \"content\": f\"Summarize:\\n{text}\"}], max_new_tokens=200)\nprint(out[0][\"generated_text\"][-1][\"content\"])\n```\nFor VLMs, put images inside the message `content` list instead of passing `images=`.
