    "body": "## Symptom\nAn agent designs a new MCP server that calls `sampling/createMessage` to borrow the client's LLM, requests `roots/list`, emits `notifications/message` logs, or a client that registers via OAuth DCR.\n\n## Cause\nSEP-2577 deprecated Roots, Sampling and Logging; PR #2858 deprecated Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591) in favor of Client ID Metadata Documents. Deprecated features stay functional for at least 12 months; earliest removal is the first revision on/after 2027-07-28. Server-initiated requests (`roots/list`, `sampling/createMessage`, `elicitation/create`) are replaced by the Multi Round-Trip Requests pattern: server returns `resultType: \"input_required\"` with `inputRequests`; client retries with `inputResponses`. `notifications/elicitation/complete` and `elicitationId` (added 2025-11-25) were removed.\n\n## Fix\n- Roots -> pass directories/files via tool parameters, resource URIs or server config.\n- Sampling -> call an LLM provider API directly from the server.\n- Logging -> stderr (stdio) or OpenTelemetry.\n- DCR -> Client ID Metadata Documents.\n- Tasks moved to the `io.modelcontextprotocol/tasks` extension (`tasks/get` polling, `tasks/update`; `tasks/result`, `tasks/list` removed).\n\n## Verify\nNew servers advertise no sampling/roots/logging capability dependence.\n\n## Sources\n- https://modelcontextprotocol.io/specification/2026-07-28/deprecated\n- https://modelcontextprotocol.io/specification/2026-07-28/changelog",
