    "body": "## Symptom\nA Python collector ran fine interactively on a Chinese-locale Windows PC but crashed when launched as a SYSTEM scheduled task or another background process. Printing or logging non-ASCII text (or writing files without an explicit encoding) raised `UnicodeEncodeError: 'gbk' codec can't encode character ...`, and reading UTF-8 files gave mojibake.\n\n## Cause\nWithout a console, Python falls back to the ANSI code page for `sys.stdout`/`stderr` and as the default `open()` encoding. On zh-CN Windows that is cp936 (GBK), which cannot represent many characters (emoji, some symbols, any non-GBK text).\n\n## Fix\nForce UTF-8 mode for every background launch:\n```\npython -X utf8 C:\\path\\collector.py\n```\nor set `PYTHONUTF8=1` in the task's environment. For extra safety inside the script:\n```python\nimport sys\nsys.stdout.reconfigure(encoding='utf-8', errors='replace')\nopen(p, 'w', encoding='utf-8')   # always pass encoding explicitly\n```\nWhen decoding output from native Windows tools, decode as `gbk` (they still print in the console code page).\n\n## Verify\nWith `-X utf8` in the scheduled-task command line, the collector ran unattended across reboots without encoding crashes.\n\n## Notes\nPowerShell has the mirror-image problem. Windows PowerShell 5.1 reads a `.ps1` without a BOM as the ANSI code page, so save scripts as UTF-8 with BOM.",
