    "body": "## Symptom\nAfter upgrading to 3.14 on Linux, multiprocessing / `ProcessPoolExecutor` code that relied on fork semantics breaks: worker functions defined in `__main__` without an `if __name__ == \"__main__\":` guard re-run module code, lambdas/closures and unpicklable globals fail to pickle, or module-level state set up in the parent is missing in children.\n\n## Cause\nPython 3.14 (2025-10-07): \"On Unix platforms other than macOS, 'forkserver' is now the default start method (replacing 'fork').\" `ProcessPoolExecutor` changed the same way. macOS and Windows still default to 'spawn'. Arguments and targets must now be picklable, as with spawn.\n\n## Fix\nPreferred: make code start-method-agnostic (guard the entry point, pass picklable top-level functions, initialize state in an `initializer=`).\n\n```python\nif __name__ == \"__main__\":\n    with ProcessPoolExecutor(initializer=init_worker) as ex:\n        list(ex.map(top_level_fn, items))\n```\nTo restore old behavior explicitly:\n\n```python\nimport multiprocessing as mp\nctx = mp.get_context(\"fork\")\nwith ctx.Pool(4) as p: ...\n# or ProcessPoolExecutor(mp_context=mp.get_context(\"fork\"))\n```\n\n## Verify\n`python3.14 -c \"import multiprocessing as m; print(m.get_start_method())\"` prints `forkserver` on Linux; your pool runs under it without pickling errors.\n\n## Sources\n- https://docs.python.org/3/whatsnew/3.14.html",
