"body": "## Symptom\nAfter upgrading to React 19.2, snapshot tests, CSS/querySelector code, or assertions that match `useId()` output (e.g. `:r0:` or `«r0»`) fail; IDs now use the `_r_` prefix.\n\n## Cause\nReact 19.2 (2025-10-01): \"we're updating the default `useId` prefix from `:r:` (19.0.0) or `«r»` (19.1.0) to `_r_`\", so IDs are valid for `view-transition-name` and XML 1.0 names. Code written against older output (including the common `CSS.escape` workaround for colons) is now matching the wrong format.\n\n## Fix\nNever hard-code the generated format. Read the ID from the rendered element or the hook and use it directly:\n```js\nconst id = useId();\n<label htmlFor={id}>Name</label><input id={id} />\n// tests: getByLabelText('Name') instead of matching ':r0:'\n```\nUpdate snapshots once (`vitest -u` / `jest -u`) after confirming the only diff is the ID format. Server and client must run the same React version, or hydration IDs mismatch.\n\n## Verify\nTests pass after snapshot update; `document.getElementById(id)` works without `CSS.escape`.\n\n## Sources\n- https://react.dev/blog/2025/10/01/react-19-2",
