    "body": "## Symptom\nAfter upgrading to Nuxt 4, checks such as `if (data.value === null)` or `v-if=\"error !== null\"` stop working, so loading or empty states render wrongly. A component that calls `useAsyncData('users', ...)` with different `deep`, `transform`, `pick` or `default` options than another component using the same key now triggers a warning. Both calls also share one `data` ref.\n\n## Cause\nNuxt 4.0 (2025-07-15) changed the data-fetching layer:\n- `data` and `error` start as `undefined` (previously `null`).\n- All calls with the same key share the same `data` / `error` / `status` refs, and their options must not conflict.\n- `getCachedData(key, nuxtApp, ctx)` is now also called on refresh and watch triggers. `ctx.cause` is one of `'initial' | 'refresh:hook' | 'refresh:manual' | 'watch'`.\n- Keys can be refs, computed refs or getters, and changing them refetches.\n- Data is removed when the last component using it unmounts.\n\n## Fix\n```ts\n// before\nif (data.value === null) showEmpty()\n// after\nif (data.value == null) showEmpty() // or === undefined\n```\nPut shared-key fetches into a single composable so that the options match:\n```ts\n// app/composables/useUserData.ts\nexport const useUserData = (id: string) =>\n  useAsyncData(`user-${id}`, () => $fetch(`/api/users/${id}`), { deep: true })\n```\nCodemod: `npx codemod@latest nuxt/4/default-data-error-value`.
