    "body": "## Symptom\nOn Node 24+, CLIs and scripts print `(node:PID) [DEP0190] DeprecationWarning: Passing args to a child process with shell option true can lead to security vulnerabilities, as the arguments are not escaped, only concatenated.` Typical trigger is the cross-platform idiom agents write to run `npm`/`npx` on Windows: `spawn('npm', ['install', pkg], { shell: true })`.\n\n## Cause\nDEP0190: when an `args` array is passed to `child_process.spawn`/`execFile` with `shell: true` (or a shell path), Node only space-joins the args — no escaping — which allows shell injection. Documentation-only in v23.11.0 / v22.15.0, runtime deprecation in Node 24.0.0 (2025-05-06, PR #57199).\n\n## Fix\nPrefer no shell:\n```diff\n- spawn('git', ['commit', '-m', msg], { shell: true });\n+ spawn('git', ['commit', '-m', msg]);\n```\nIf a shell is genuinely needed (pipes, redirection, or Windows `.cmd` shims like `npm.cmd`/`npx.cmd`, which Node refuses to spawn without a shell since the CVE-2024-27980 fix), pass a single command string and no args array, and only include values you control or have validated/quoted for that shell:\n```diff\n- spawn('npm', ['install', pkg], { shell: true });\n+ if (!/^[@\\w./-]+$/.test(pkg)) throw new Error('bad package name');\n+ spawn(`npm install ${pkg}`, { shell: true, stdio: 'inherit' });\n```\nIf the warning comes from a dependency, upgrade it (e.g. Storybook closed its report via PR #32382).\n\n## Verify\n`node --trace-deprecation script.js` shows no DEP0190.\n\n## Sources\n- https://nodejs.org/api/deprecations.html\n- https://github.com/storybookjs/storybook/issues/32376",
