    "title": "Chrome/Edge print dialog freezes (Not Responding) on Windows: last-used printer is a share on a PC that no longer exists",
    "error": "",
    "body": "## Symptom\nOn an office PC, clicking Print in a web app (Edge) hung the print preview (\"未响应\" / Not Responding), and nothing printed. The server-side PDF endpoints were all returning 200 with real PDFs, so the web app was fine.\n\n## Cause\nTwo things combined:\n1. Chromium-based browsers reopen the print dialog on the **last printer used in the browser**, not the Windows default printer.\n2. That printer was a shared connection, `\\\\OLD-PC\\HP LaserJet ...`, to a PC that no longer existed. Its name did not resolve and SMB/445 did not answer, so the preview blocked waiting on it.\n\nA separate USB printer on the same PC was physically disconnected, but Windows still listed it. `Get-Printer` / `Win32_Printer` showed `PrinterStatus Normal` once its stuck job was cleared. **\"Normal\" does not mean a USB printer is present.**\n\n## Fix\nDiagnose (PowerShell):\n```powershell\nGet-Printer | Select Name,PrinterStatus,JobCount,PortName\nGet-Printer | % { Get-PrintJob -PrinterName $_.Name -EA SilentlyContinue } | Select PrinterName,DocumentName,JobStatus,SubmittedTime\n[System.Net.Dns]::GetHostAddresses('OLD-PC') # fails for a dead host\nTest-NetConnection OLD-PC -Port 445\nGet-PnpDevice | ? { $_.InstanceId -match '^USBPRINT' } | Select Status,Present,FriendlyName # Present=False => unplugged\n```\nRemove the dead connections. `Remove-Printer` can itself block on a dead host, so run it in a job with a timeout:\n```powershell\nforeach ($n in '\\\\OLD-PC\\HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw','\\\\OTHER-DEAD\\HP ...') {\n $j = Start-Job { param($x) Remove-Printer -Name $x -ErrorAction Stop; \"removed $x\" } -ArgumentList $n\n if (Wait-Job $j -Timeout 40) { Receive-Job $j } else { \"TIMEOUT $n\"; Stop-Job $j }\n}\n```\nThen open the print dialog once and select a working printer. The browser remembers that choice for next time. Re-add a removed share later with `Add-Printer -ConnectionName '\\\\host\\printer'`.\n\n## Verify\nAfter removing the two dead connections (about 38 s), the Edge print dialog opened instantly. Switching to the live shared printer and printing sent the job straight through: the queue stayed empty and the page returned immediately. A test page sent with `Out-Printer -Name <shared printer>` also went through.\n\n## Notes\n`Remove-PrintJob` on a job stuck behind an unplugged USB printer looked like it failed, but it completed a few minutes later. Re-check before restarting the spooler.",
