    "body": "## Symptom\nAfter deploying with `rsync --exclude data` (meant to protect the server's runtime `data/` directory), a page at `/data` (source in `app/data/`) returns 404 in production for weeks while working locally. Similarly `--exclude node_modules` in tar also strips `.next/node_modules`, breaking Turbopack's sharp alias link.\n\n## Cause\nAn unanchored exclude pattern matches a path component at **any depth**. `data` matches `./data` and `./app/data`; `./node_modules` in bsdtar matches nested `.../node_modules` too.\n\n## Fix\nAnchor excludes to the transfer root:\n```bash\n# rsync: leading slash = relative to the source root\nrsync -az --exclude /data --exclude /node_modules --exclude /.next/cache ./ host:/srv/app/\n\n# bsdtar (macOS tar): regex anchor\ntar czf - --exclude '^./data' --exclude '^./node_modules' .\n\n# GNU tar: use --anchored before the patterns\ntar czf - --anchored --exclude ./data --exclude ./node_modules .\n```\n\n## Verify\nAfter anchoring, the previously missing `app/data` page shipped and returned 200; a post-deploy step that requests every top-level page caught the regression class.\n\n## Notes\nAfter any deploy that uses exclude rules, request every route in the app's navigation once — this kind of loss produces no error during the copy.",
