    "body": "## Symptom\nA script that ran `brew tap vendor/tools && brew install sometool` (short name) fails on a machine with current Homebrew; `brew doctor` warns about untrusted non-official taps. CI setup scripts written for Homebrew 4/5 break.\n\n## Cause\nHomebrew **6.0.0 (2026-06-11)** introduced tap trust: taps contain arbitrary Ruby, so non-official taps must be explicitly trusted before Homebrew evaluates their code. Docs: \"Commands that need to load an untrusted tap or item will fail until the relevant trust is granted.\" Official taps stay trusted. `HOMEBREW_NO_REQUIRE_TAP_TRUST=1` is deprecated and will be removed.\n\n## Fix\nInstalling by fully qualified name trusts only that item:\n```bash\nbrew install vendor/tools/sometool\nbrew install --cask vendor/tools/someapp\n```\nShort names after tapping need explicit trust:\n```bash\nbrew tap vendor/tools\nbrew trust --formula vendor/tools/sometool   # or --cask / --command\nbrew install sometool\n# whole tap (all current and future items):\nbrew trust vendor/tools\n```\nTrust the canonical formula name; aliases and renames do not carry trust.
