    "body": "## Symptom\nA wrapper launches a small Python `ThreadingHTTPServer`-based local proxy and then Claude Code in the same terminal (e.g. via `HTTPS_PROXY=127.0.0.1:<port>`). The Claude Code TUI periodically gets garbled with Python tracebacks (`BrokenPipeError`, `ConnectionResetError`) mid-screen.\n\n## Cause\nWhen a client hangs up (cancelled request, stream closed), `socketserver`'s default `handle_error` prints a full traceback to **stderr**, which is the same TTY the TUI is drawing on.\n\n## Fix\nNever write to stderr from proxy threads; log to a file and silence client hang-ups:\n```python\nclass Server(ThreadingHTTPServer):\n    daemon_threads = True\n    def handle_error(self, request, client_address):\n        import sys, traceback\n        exc = sys.exc_info()[1]\n        if isinstance(exc, (BrokenPipeError, ConnectionResetError)):\n            return\n        with open(LOG_PATH, 'a') as f:\n            traceback.print_exc(file=f)\n\nclass Handler(BaseHTTPRequestHandler):\n    def log_message(self, *a): pass         # default logs to stderr too\n    def finish(self):\n        try: super().finish()\n        except OSError: pass\n```\nAlternatively start the proxy with stdout/stderr redirected to a log file (`>proxy.log 2>&1 &`).\n\n## Verify\nAfter the change, long sessions with cancelled requests no longer corrupt the TUI.",
