    "body": "## Symptom\nA project with parallel routes (`app/@modal`, `app/@team`, `app/@analytics`, the intercepting-modal pattern) built fine on Next.js 15 but `next build` fails on 16. The error links to https://nextjs.org/docs/messages/slot-missing-default (\"Missing Required default.js for Parallel Route\"). On 15 a missing default.js only gave a 404 or soft fallback at runtime on hard navigation.\n\n## Cause\nNext.js 16.0 (2025-10-21): \"All parallel route slots now require explicit `default.js` files. Builds will fail without them.\" The `upgrade` codemod does not add them. The implicit `children` slot is exempt. A root `app/default.js` is optional but avoids 404s on hard navigation.\n\n## Fix\nAdd a `default.tsx` in each named slot directory named in the error.
