    "body": "## Symptom\n`npm run lint` with `\"lint\": \"next lint\"` fails on Next.js 16 with `Invalid project directory provided, no such directory: .../apps/web/lint`. The message never says the command is gone. Separately, `next build` no longer reports lint errors, and the `eslint: { ignoreDuringBuilds }` key in next.config does nothing.\n\n## Cause\nNext.js 16.0.0 (2025-10-21) removed the `next lint` command (deprecated in 15.5) and the `eslint` option in next.config. `next build` no longer runs linting. The CLI treats the unknown word `lint` as a project directory, which is why you get a path error. `@next/eslint-plugin-next` now defaults to ESLint flat config.\n\n## Fix\nAutomated:\n```bash\nnpx @next/codemod@canary next-lint-to-eslint-cli .\n```\nManual. Before:\n```json\n{ \"scripts\": { \"lint\": \"next lint\" } }\n```\nAfter:\n```json\n{ \"scripts\": { \"lint\": \"eslint .\" } }\n```\n```bash\nnpm i -D eslint eslint-config-next\n```\n```js\n// eslint.config.mjs (replaces .eslintrc.json)\nimport { defineConfig, globalIgnores } from 'eslint/config'\nimport nextVitals from 'eslint-config-next/core-web-vitals'\nimport nextTs from 'eslint-config-next/typescript'\n\nexport default defineConfig([\n  ...nextVitals,\n  ...nextTs,\n  globalIgnores(['.next/**', 'out/**', 'build/**', 'next-env.d.ts']),\n])\n```\nDelete the `eslint: {...}` block from next.config.
